According to American Psychological Association Personality refers to individual differences in characteristic patterns of thinking, feeling and behaving. The study of personality focuses on two broad areas: One is understanding individual differences in particular personality characteristics, such as sociability or irritability. The other is understanding how the various parts of a person come together as a whole.

Personality and individual differences:

What makes someone who they are? Each person has an idea of their own personality type if they are bubbly or reserved, sensitive or thick-skinned. Psychologists who try to tease out the science of who we are define personality as individual differences in the way people tend to think, feel and behave. People are different in both physical skills and abilities as well as in cognitive skills and abilities. For instance, strength, stamina, physical balance, inductive reasoning, perceptual and inductive reasoning and so on. Moreover several factors like biological, economic, socio-cultural, and psychological factor govern individual’s behavior and have a greater effect on the personality of a person.

Can personality change?

We can say personality might or might not be amendment. A study printed within the January 2017 journal Psychological Bulletin synthesized 207 printed analysis papers and located that temperament is also altered through medical care. “For the those who wish to vary their better half tomorrow, that loads of individuals wish to try and do, I do not hold out abundant hope for them,” aforementioned study research worker brant Roberts, a social and temperament scientist at the University of Illinois. However, he continuing, “if you are willing to target one facet of yourself, and you are willing to travel at it consistently, there is currently hyperbolic optimism that you just will have an effect on amendment in this domain.”
